Laugh Out Loud Questions and Answers on Goodreads

You know how there’s a series of hilarious reviews on Amazon for products like the banana slicer? Well, Goodreads has its own version of this hilarity. Meet the question and answer section. I believe this was developed for the purpose of asking questions like ‘What genre is this?’ or ‘Is this OK for my 12 year old to read?’. Instead, it has devolved into people asking some of the strangest and lol-worthy questions on the internet. I like to think of it as Yahoo Answers, but for book people.

On ‘The Fated Sky (Lady Astronaut #2)’ by Mary Robinette Kowal, we get the fun author who takes it upon themselves to help out the public. Thanks, Mary!

On ‘Armada’ by Ernest Cline, we have someone who is either intentionally trying to be funny, or just doesn’t understand English. I’m not sure, but at least the book is ‘much good.’

Some people don’t seem to grasp the point of answering a question, like this person. Stay tuned for how she feels post-discussion.

Here we have Davy, who says he doesn’t do reviews, but upon further research I learned that he does, in fact, write other reviews. He even owns his own media company! Davy, you should know, I know where to find you. Also know that a review saying “I don’t do reviews” still, in fact, counts as a review.

Here we have a question about the content of a book, and a friendly Goodreads user who won’t do your homework for you.

Some people, who find themselves on Goodreads, aren’t even really sure what a book is. This happens on many book question sections. Why, I ask? Why?

Please comment with other times you’ve seen this happen on Goodreads reviews. I will keep updating this post as I find more and more of them. Happy reading!
