In 2018, I set myself an official goal to read at least a book a week. It was the first time I had ever tracked my reading. And, wow! I was actually able to read 75 books, which surpassed all my expectations. During the year, I also found Anne Bogel (of Modern Mrs. Darcy fame) and added at least 100 more books to my to-be-read list. With all that reading, I just could not stop talking about books. It was all books, all the time. Gifting a book for a birthday or a holiday became my go-to, and I was randomly sending books to my friends when I came across one that I knew they would love. My close friends (and my out-of-the-woodwork friends) began asking me for recommendations, which was so weird. I mean, I’ve been reading my whole life, quietly to myself. It never occurred to me that others might be interested in my opinions and thoughts about all the books I was reading. But, apparently there are some people out there who are interested, so here is a blog (and a new instagram) where I’ll be tracking my reading in the next year and sharing my thoughts and reading life with y’all.
